Run SellDeck From Claude or Cursor

5-minute setup · Pro plan or higher · No competitor offers this

What the assistant can do

SellDeck speaks the Model Context Protocol — the open standard AI assistants use to operate software. Point Claude or Cursor at your account and manage inventory, listings, and fees in plain English instead of clicking through menus.

  • Ask anything: live inventory counts, eBay order and fee history, listing status.
  • Single changes: reprice a listing, update quantity, end a listing, edit an item.
  • Bulk jobs: relist hundreds of ended auctions as Buy It Now, roll 1-day handling across the store, assign store categories — queued in the background with live progress.

Step 1: Generate your token

Log in to SellDeck and open Settings. Find the AI Assistant (MCP) card and click Generate Token. Copy it immediately — it is shown once and expires in 90 days (regenerate any time for a fresh 90 days).

Requires the Pro plan or higher. Lower tiers see an upgrade prompt on the same card.

Step 2: Connect Claude Desktop

Open Claude Desktop → Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector:

  • URL: https://selldeck.io/api/v1/mcp
  • Auth: Bearer token — paste the token from Step 1.

Type "How many items do I have listed on eBay right now?" to confirm it works.

Step 2b: Connect Cursor / Claude Code

Add this to your MCP config file:

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "selldeck": {
      "url": "https://selldeck.io/api/v1/mcp",
      "headers": {
        "Authorization": "Bearer PASTE_TOKEN_HERE"
      }
    }
  }
}

8 prompts to try first

  1. "How many items do I have listed on eBay right now, and what's the total value?"
  2. "What were my eBay fees last month, broken down?"
  3. "Show me everything under $10 that's been listed over 60 days."
  4. "Reprice item 10212 to $49.99."
  5. "Relist my unsold VHS tapes to the VHS store category." — dry-run first; say yes to queue it.
  6. "Set all active listings to 1-day handling." — the Top Rated Seller prerequisite.
  7. "Which of my rare books have no ad campaign? Draft ad rates for them."
  8. "End listing 178502578542." — requires typing the confirmation.

Safety: what it will never do

  • Auction items with bids are never touched. Revises, ends, and relists all skip them automatically.
  • Deletes and listing-ends need typed confirmation (delete {id}, end {itemId}) — a stray sentence can't wipe inventory.
  • Bulk work shows a dry-run first. Nothing executes until you say so, and progress is pollable at any time.
  • No buyer messaging, no bidding, no data scraping. It only sees and touches your own inventory.
  • Lost your token? Revoke it in Settings → AI Assistant. Tokens also expire on their own after 90 days.

Troubleshooting

  • "No auth token" / 401: the Bearer token is missing or expired. Regenerate it in Settings and update your connector config.
  • "Write rate limit exceeded": 20 writes/minute per user. Wait a minute and retry — bulk jobs throttle themselves.
  • A bulk job seems stuck: ask for bulk_status with the batch ID. The queue drains roughly 20 jobs/minute; a 200-item batch takes about 10 minutes.
  • "Upgrade prompt": AI assistant access needs Pro or higher.
